Elect Amy Mercado Florida House District 35

Greetings!

As you know, there are only 5 days left in this quarter, so all the candidates running for office are all in need of funds to show a good quarter against their opponents.

I too am in need of your help, but with some interesting dynamics in my race for House District 35.

You know my opponent, Dean Cannon, as the presumptive Speaker of the House. You know him as a powerful, wealthy politician backed by huge corporate interests. You know him as the leader of a party that wants oil drilling off our coasts, that abandons our children and elderly, that represents the extreme far-right.

Here's what you don't know: Dean Cannon is the most vulnerable politician in Florida. And with your help, we can knock him out before he can do real damage.

Last year, Cannon was reelected without receiving votes from 50% of the people who voted in his district. With no Democratic opposition, 53% of voters in OUR District 35 chose to vote against him or not vote at all in that race. More than half of his voting constituents chose to skip over his name on their ballot.

WITH YOUR HELP, my campaign can and will let voters know that this year they have a better choice.

You know me because we've worked together, volunteered together or simply met at an event. Now it's time to introduce myself to District 35, where I've lived and contributed for years. It takes resources to do this, and a campaign that knows how to win.

Wednesday is the last day of September, and the last day to reach our $10,000 goal. We are only $1,000 short, and I need your help.

Please contribute  all that you can right now to take back District 35, every penny counts.

Dethroning the presumptive Speaker in 2010 would send a shockwave through Florida politics, but it would also send someone to Tallahassee who truly represents our district, and not the Republican establishment.

Thank you,

Amy Mercado
